The Mystic REPC has created an extensive CAMEO database for our member communities that includes Tier-2 facility and special-location records to assist in planning and response. Throughout 2024 and 2025, the Mystic REPC has conducted training sesions with member communities to update their community data and train staff on how to use CAMEO. At our May 19, 2026, meeting, attendees heard fantastic presentations from Wilmington Fire Chief William Cavanaugh and North Reading Lieutenant Jonathan Burt, who reviewed a recent Tier 3 response; Yazoo County Emergency Management Director Jack Willingham, who reviewed the 2025 CF Industries explosion; and Chair Michael Castro, who reviewed the process for reviewing Tier II Hazardous Chemical Inventory reports. The U.S. Fire Administration recently released an online, self-study training on Energy Storage Systems (Q0757). The organization notes that this course will teach students to, “recognize energy storage system (ESS) concepts and principles so you can analyze the hazards involved with ESS incidents.”
